Adventure Village Counselor Jobs
Adventure village counselors live with the adventure campers and lead and facilitate adventure trips in rock climbing, tubing, caving, mountain biking, ropes courses, wall climbing, hiking, and canoeing. Adventure village counselors also accompany groups when whitewater rafting, hang gliding, and scuba diving. Adventure village counselors assist with preparing and serving meals, cleaning up, and doing other chores around Adventure Village daily. During the day adventure village counselors lead groups of campers on adventure trips off the camp property. Adventure village counselors also teach in a specific activity area during activity periods. Adventure village counselors are hired for their experience, enjoyment of this type of work, and teaching abilities in different areas, such as art, aquatics, etc.
It is preferred that someone applying for an adventure village counselor job be a college sophomore or older. Basic knowledge of hiking, canoeing, river navigation, rope climbing, belaying, and nature is also required for adventure village counselor jobs. Previous experience of two years is preferred for adventure village counselors.
