Aoda Counselor Jobs
An AODA counselor provides assessments and individual and group counseling in an all-male residential facility. An AODA counselor provides services to alcohol and other drug abusers and their families. An AODA counselor creates and maintains clinical records of services provided which meet the standards established by federal, state, and departmental policy. An AODA counselor provides AODA information, consultation, educational services, and referral services to agencies and the community. An AODA counselor collaborates with other Human Services Department staff, other agencies, and local schools to plan and implement services and programs to prevent alcohol and other drug abuse. An AODA counselor participates in unit and agency meetings and seeks and attends appropriate training opportunities. An AODA counselor acts as case manager for assigned cases, including, but not limited to, establishing and maintaining individualized treatment plans for clients and coordinating treatment with other agencies and professionals. An AODA counselor provides information to the court and participates in civil commitment proceedings as required.
A BA in a related field, AODA certification, and SAC-IT or CSAC designation is preferred, as is a master's degree in a related field, for AODA counselor jobs. A valid driver's license and insured vehicle and previous experience in corrections are required for AODA counselor jobs. Good written and oral communication skills are also required for AODA counselor jobs. Excellent computer skills are preferred for AODA counselor jobs.
