Archery Counselor Jobs
The responsibility of an archery counselor is to further the mission of the camp through the development and delivery of archery activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the campers’ ages and abilities. Archery counselors assist in the management and the physical operation of archery-related equipment. Archery counselors develop and deliver an archery program that is appropriate for the ages and abilities of the campers. Archery counselors write lesson plans that meet camp goals. Archery counselors evaluate the abilities of campers and staff. Archery counselor jobs require delivery of progressive archery activities and evaluation of the success of the archery program. Archery counselors ensure that camp staff and campers know and follow safety and educational procedures. Archery counselors assist in the management and care of the physical facilities and equipment used in archery-related activities. Archery counselors should participate enthusiastically in all camp activities, planning and leading activities as assigned.
Documented training and experience in archery is required for archery counselor jobs. The ability to work with children outdoors in varied conditions is preferred. The ability to communicate and work with groups of varying ages and skill levels and provide the necessary instruction to campers and staff is also preferred for archery counselor jobs. An archery counselor should be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess the strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers.
