Benefits Counselor Jobs
Those holding benefits counselor jobs are responsible for answering employee benefits-related questions and conducting benefit enrollments within a call center environment. Benefits counselor jobs use standard scripting to answer incoming calls. Benefits counselors conduct security checks to validate calls, obtain appropriate information to process benefit enrollments, and provide information to assist in making benefits-related decisions. Benefits counselors conduct intake processes and initiate funding. A benefits counselor has to plan, develop, conduct, and maintain a positive relationship with agencies and organizations. A benefits counselor will also provide social security beneficiaries with accurate information on work incentives so they can make informed choices.
A college degree or equivalent experience is required for benefits counselor jobs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required for benefits counselor jobs. Previous customer service experience is also preferred for benefits counselor jobs. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and strong keyboarding skills are also required for benefits counselor jobs.
