Bilingual Counselor Jobs
Bilingual counselors provide individual, couples, and family counseling on mental health and personal growth issues to women and their families in different languages. Bilingual counselors provide consultation, information, and resources to client organizations and conduct and document comprehensive assessments of users’ needs in such things as childcare, parenting, emotional well-being, mental health disorders, suicidal tendencies, workplace trauma, work issues, management consultation, and other issues. Bilingual counselors are responsible for single session telephonic counseling, giving each call full, professional, and positive attention, despite pressure from incoming calls or other deadlines. Bilingual counselors give solutions and action plans to enhance an individual’s ability to manage the issues of life and work.
A bilingual counselor should have a master’s degree in a related discipline, such as social work, counseling psychology, or educational psychology. For bilingual counselor jobs, experience in counseling, social work, or mental health services or EAP experience is preferred. Bilingual counselors should have clinical supervision and access to professional CEU training. Bilingual counselors are required to hold a current license as a master social worker (LMSW) or licensed professional counselor (LPC or LPCi), and skill at speaking, reading, and writing in different languages is required.
