Executive Counselor Jobs

Executive counselors provide students across the country with the highest level of one-on-one customer service and administrative support and act as personal coaches and counselors or advisors to help students qualify for admissions, select a degree, complete the enrollment process, and make a smooth transition into the classroom. Executive counselors work as part of a graduation team with other counseling specialists to ensure students' success. Executive counselors work with faculty, staff, students, parents, and the community to develop, implement, and sustain a comprehensive student guidance and counseling program. Executive counselors guide students to fully develop each of their career paths, providing information regarding various programs and opportunities. Executive counselors assist in coordination of data-gathering activities required by federal and state regulations and provide synergy with campuses and district administration. Executive counselors develop and implement measurable systems to ensure that all students and parents receive educational and career guidance.
Executive counselors must have a bachelor's or master's degree in guidance and counseling and the equivalent of 3-5 years as a guidance counselor, out of which three years of teaching experience is preferred. Executive counselors should have knowledge of counseling procedures, intervention skills, student appraisals, and career development. Executive counselors must possess strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills and the ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
