Insurance Counselor Jobs
A successful insurance counselor seeks additional opportunities and responsibilities in his or her work. An insurance counselor responds quickly to customer inquiries and needs. An insurance counselor solicits business, qualifies applicants, counsels customers concerning coverage and/or policy changes, quotes insurance rates, and accurately completes new insurance applications. An insurance counselor recognizes and maintains a fiduciary responsibility to collect down payments and premiums and to protect customers' confidentiality and privacy in accordance with club and regulatory requirements. Insurance counselors also execute and facilitate insured service requests, while anticipating account rounding and cross-selling opportunities. An insurance counselor supports the sales and service of all club products and benefits and completes related tasks and duties as directed by agency management. An insurance counselor investigates internal/external customer needs and concerns and acts accordingly, giving high priority to service and customer satisfaction.
An associate's degree or equivalent work experience/education is required for an insurance counselor job. Two years of customer service or sales experience in an insurance environment or a related industry are sufficient for an insurance counselor job. A clear speaking voice, strong language skills, and an enthusiastic telephone personality are also required for insurance counselor jobs. Bilingual skills are likewise required for many insurance counselor jobs.
