Teacher Counselor Jobs
Teacher counselors assist in the developing, implementing, and monitoring of individual and group treatment plans and procedures during program hours that result in improved adaptive social and interpersonal functioning and high rates of successful program completion among youth in assigned groups. A teacher counselor provides support to students struggling with severe emotional and psychological challenges and requiring the focused attention of staff. Teacher counselors also serve as assistant teachers and tutor for all educational subjects covered in the classroom and provide support for behavioral interventions as needed. A teacher counselor maintains order in the classroom and completes all assigned paperwork in a thorough and timely fashion. A teacher counselor is responsible for operations like class schedules, doubt sessions, student fees, and conducting scholarship tests.
Teacher counselors must have a bachelor's degree and work experience in a residential, school, day care, or child-centered agency. Teacher counselors must have a valid driver's license, good written and oral communication skills, and the capacity to serve clients from diverse backgrounds. Teacher counselors use creativity and counseling to teach young people necessary life skills and help improve a young person's behavior.
