Therapist Counselor Jobs
Therapist counselors provide case management and therapy services to clients in the community. Therapist counselor responsibilities may include providing assessments and crisis intervention, developing treatment plans, and facilitating group and family counseling. Therapist counselors provide outpatient counseling, including assessments and individual, family, and group work. Therapist counselors conduct on-going assessments of behavior, mental health status, signs and symptoms of mental health disorder, physical and dental health, substance abuse, and educational, social, developmental, and family functioning and recommend clients for additional services as identified. Therapist counselors work as part of a dynamic team providing services in the community assisting with development and implementation of psycho-educational and support groups.
Therapist counselors must have a master's degree in social work, mental health, rehabilitation counseling, or psychology. For therapist counselor jobs, experience in facilitating groups is preferred. Therapist counselors must have strong organizational skills. Therapist counselors must have experience working with patients, monitoring treatment plans, and conducting group and individual psychotherapy sessions.
