We are always looking for qualified professionals with a passion for improving young lives, as a member of our national staff.  We have strong values, embrace diversity and offer great benefits to allow our employees to maintain work/life balance.n nLocation - Atlanta, GA Office Based n nAs Boys & Girls Clubs of America launches its Great Futures 2025 Strategic Plan and the priorities within, the Youth Development Programs & Trends team seeks a strategic thinker that possesses a deep understanding of youth development theory, demonstrating an ability to translate related research into practice for the 4,300 local Clubs in the Boys & Girls Club Movement to improve program quality.nThe Senior Director, Youth Development Programs will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the Arts and Leadership & Service portfolio. The position will lead curriculum design, training design, and all content development and curation for the Leadership & Service and Arts Core Program Areas. Under limited supervision from the National Director, Youth Development Programs, the Senior Director will provide strategic support to the planning and development of a national program model and alignment strategy to ensure the integration of youth experiences, staff practices, programmatic structure, types of programs, and the professional development of staff function cohesively to support whole-child development and youth outcomes. This role will lead a team of Directors with content-specific expertise in the development of systems and tactics to align program curricula, content-based assets, supporting resources, and training materials to the model.nResponsibilitiesnESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProgram Model Development The Senior Director, Youth Development Programs Leadership & Service and the Arts will:u2022 Lead the strategic oversight and direction of a team in the implementation of a high quality youth development program model that increases quality and drives youth outcomes in an assigned core program content area and functional areas. Functional responsibilities includes how content across Youth Development Programs builds Club capacity at all levels: Youth, Staff and Club capacity to ensure a holistic approach to driving youth outcomes.u2022 S/he will provide strategic direction and oversight in the identification and integration of youth development standards, complementary of the program model, essential to address and improve social determinants of health, inclusive of physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development; corresponding youth experiences essential to outcomes related to arts for youth ages 6-18; and strategies to strengthen systems that promote well-being. The position will identify the structure, youth development and management staff practices, operational procedures, and business insights needed to support the model. u2022 Lead the development and implementation of systems to identify and provide training and technical assistance to Clubs to support local program implementation in assigned content areas.u2022 Lead the corresponding development of domain specific curricula instructional design, scope and sequence, and content in alignment with the model. u2022 Lead the development and integration of program standards and codified practices within core program area and functional responsibilities across Youth Development Programs.u2022 Lead and support thought leadership to advance BGCAu2019s Program Model as an evidence-informed skill promotion and intervention approach to foster whole-child development and address the social determinants of holistic health and well-being. u2022 Develop supporting documents and collateral to support fundraising efforts nationally and at the local level. u2022 Maintain high-level expertise in the areas of high quality youth development, subject matter expertise in the arts, leadership and service, high quality youth development, racial equity, trauma-informed practice, and instructional design and training to drive work and results to ensure the effective translation and application to Boys & Girls Clubs, specifically.n nPortfolio Development and Alignment The Senior Director, Youth Development Programs Leadership & Service and the Arts will: u2022 Provide strategic oversight and leadership to support the functions and components of the Program Model, inclusive of development of supporting resources. S/he will lead the implementation of standard work processes and procedures to align the arts portfolio, ensuring consistent approaches related to program development, design, evaluation, best practice curation, and the integration of the following as outlined by the service delivery model: practices that support social-emotional development, inclusion, play/fun, application to the real world, digital components, and high-yield activities or conversation starters. u2022 Provide strategic direction and oversight in the implementation of a system that determines the cadence for content updates, including curricula, curriculum additions, (e.g., supplementary sessions, dialogue series, etc.), training, and program model content. u2022 In partnership with the Youth Development Operations team, lead the direction of funding support provided to local Clubs positioned to drive specific outcomes. u2022 Lead the development and management of Models of Excellence in the assigned core content area to curate, codify, and replicate practices that support high-quality experiences for kids and teens and practices that demonstrate growth in Club experience. u2022 Inform the development of, provide oversight to and manage affinity groups in related content areas.u2022 Manage a portfolio of multi-million dollar public/private-sector contracts, ensuring timely and quality delivery of project goals and objectives.n nStrategy Integration The Senior Director, Youth Development Programs Leadership & Service and the Arts will lead a team of Directors with subject matter expertise to, and within the assigned core program area, to: u2022 Effectively leverage partnerships with teams representing cross functional responsibilities (i.e. Field Operations, Federal Grants, and Government Relations), within the scope and context of the assigned core program area, develop a funding strategy and corresponding concept papers, to supports the program model, developing new funding streams, and retain and/or pivot existing funding partners to meet the priorities of the Great Futures 2025 Strategic Direction. u2022 Effectively leverage partnerships across BGCA, in addition to Clubs and strategic thought partners to ensure that the youth competencies needed for physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development and the corresponding youth experiences essential to outcomes related to the arts for youth ages 6-18 are reflected in curriculum adaptations and programs. u2022 Effectively leverage partnerships across BGCA to ensure that the business insights needed for the Common Club Management System are available to support the functions of the Program Model and there is a system for information sharing to inform the modelu2019s evolution. u2022 In partnership with Youth Development- Evaluation & Club Insights (YD-PDE), evaluate the BGC program model and individual programs.nSUPERVISION EXERCISEDu2022 Oversees direct reports.nQualificationsnEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEu2022 B.A. or Masters degree in Education, Arts Education, Youth Development, Organizational Change Management, Sociology, Developmental Psychology, Public Health or related field required. Advanced degree(s) in related areas preferred.u2022 Minimum seven years of experience, with progressive supervisory responsibility, in youth development, instructional design, training and technical assistance, research evaluation and assessment, strategic consulting, social justice, corporate responsibility, brand management, social work, DEI, public health or related discipline is required.u2022 Strong background in youth development, organizational change management, public health, systems strengthening, resource development, and strategic leadership. u2022 Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.n nSKILLSResearch and Writing u2022 Demonstrates a strong command of national education and youth development trends, regularly benchmarking the initiatives of peer organizations to ensure that all programs, training and initiatives are best-in-class for the youth development sector.u2022 Demonstrates an exceptional ability to write and oversee the development of curricula and translational resources in the designated area of content expertise.n nProject Managementu2022 Anticipates future BGCA business trends and broader youth development to determine implications, strategy alignment and make adjustments as necessary. u2022 Understand the relationship between future business trends and programmatic trends. u2022 Develops credible, validated, and breakthrough strategies to advance organizational priorities. u2022 Creates and communicates compelling strategies, tactical objectives and action plans.u2022 Drives for success and achieves results.u2022 Exemplifies exceptional negotiation skills with an ability to bring others together and reconcile differences. u2022 Applies logic and reasoning to identify new solutions or approaches to problems.u2022 Drives projects to completion and high-level execution.u2022 Demonstrates a proven ability to take direction and input, and to develop effective and engaging deliverables that achieve organizational goals.u2022 Exhibits proven experience directing a strategic program area, including writing and training.n nAction-oriented u2022 Identifies new opportunities to strengthen existing strategies and leverages opportunities to advance the direction of work. u2022 Handles challenges issues directly in alignment with the ICARE value system, to seek resolve as to not stall work unnecessarily. u2022 Takes calculated risks and thinks about the future-state of programs and initiatives, while considering their current state.n nClub Operations u2022 Demonstrates an understanding and application of insights related to local Club operations. u2022 Develops systems to support local Club implementation of National programs. u2022 Understands key considerations in scaling including but not limited to market place demands, program development, piloting and rapid prototyping of curricula, resources, and training materials.n nYouth Development/Programs u2022 Demonstrates an understanding of child-centered youth development practice. u2022 Understands the life cycle of program development and evaluation, and applies such knowledge for a Boys & Girls Club setting. u2022 Provides guidance to program design and development to ensure that the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical needs of youth are met and addressed based on the ages and stages of development. u2022 Establishes a unified approach for which all programs are designed against.n nCAPABILITIES Ability to carry out detailed and complex instructions; ability to interact with coworkers and public by telephone and in person as a member of a team to provide services to customers, both external and internal; ability to perform a variety of duties and to prioritize tasks to meet organizational needs. Ability to clearly and concisely exchange ideas, facts and/or technical information and guidance in person, by telephone, email, fax or correspondence. Physical requirements include: sight, hearing, sitting for four hours a day, standing for one to two hours a day, stooping; skills essential for successful communications include speaking, writing and reading comprehension.n nENVIRONMENTAL & WORKING CONDITIONSnu2022 Normal internal office environment.
