Academic Counselor Jobs description
An academic counselor position is available with a foreign education consulting firm, educational institute, training institute, college, school, academic associations, or educational consultants. An academic counselor is responsible for meeting students and their parents, studying their educational backgrounds, understanding the abilities of the student, suggesting an educational course that best suits the student, showing the benefits and growth opportunities in the area of study, giving expense estimates for different courses, clearing parents' or students' doubts and persuading both to choose upon a course. An academic counselor typically reports to the marketing officer.An academic counselor should have a high school diploma or an associate's degree. Excellent communication skills and negotiation ability are essential for an academic counselor role. Prior experience as an academic counselor may be advantageous. An appeasing personality and professional demeanor are essential for such roles.
