Westmoreland County Children’s Bureau is looking for organized, intelligent, and caring people to fill several County Caseworker 1 and Caseworker 2 positions. Caseworkers will be expected to meet with families and children, address concerns of child abuse and neglect, and develop a case plan to help those affected overcome barriers that may lead to child abuse or neglect. Individuals interested in pursuing a career in the field of child welfare should follow the following steps:
Go to the State Employment website at ****and choose “Open Jobs”
Search “County Caseworker Exam” and choose “County Caseworker 1-Local Government Exam”
If qualified for a County Caseworker 2 position, choose “County Caseworker 2-Local Government Exam” as well
Follow the instructions for each exam and apply to the exam(s).
The county will periodically post to civil service for caseworker positions on ****, and the individual will need to then apply to the specific Westmoreland County Caseworker 1 and/or Caseworker 2 position listed.
Those applicants that have already taken the exam and received a civil service score will receive an e-mail and then will be able to apply for the specific position
Interested individuals are also asked to submit a resume to the Westmoreland County Human Resources Department.
Caseworker 1 : Minimum Experience and Training: A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions.
